A Snapshot of Culture’s Impact — So Far

Early figures from 2024 already reveal the scale of culture’s impact in Aberdeen City.


Cultural organisations engaged with 1,015,475 people delivered 3,669 events, and supported 2,297 artists and 439 freelancers. The sector also employed 201 staff and involved 1,208 volunteers. While this is not yet the full picture, it underlines the important role culture plays in our communities and economy. We are continuing to collect data to build a broader view that will reflect the scale and impact of cultural activity across the wider North East.
